1. Who We Are

OtterDesk (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website otterdesk.co. We provide free payroll calculators and tax tools for users in the United States and the United Kingdom.

2. What Data We Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

• •All calculations run entirely in your browser (client-side). Your salary, tax codes, dividend amounts, and other inputs are never sent to any server.
• •We do not use cookies, localStorage, sessionStorage, or any form of client-side storage.
• •We do not require user accounts, logins, or registration.
• •When you close or refresh the page, all data you entered is permanently gone.

3. Analytics & Tracking

We do not run any analytics, tracking pixels, advertising scripts, or third-party data collection tools. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar services.

4. Hosting & Infrastructure

OtterDesk is hosted on Vercel (Vercel Inc., San Francisco, CA). Vercel may collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, page requested) as part of their infrastructure. This is governed by Vercel’s Privacy Policy. We do not have access to these logs and do not request or process them.

5. External Links

Our tools contain links to government websites (IRS, HMRC, state departments of labor) and other third-party resources. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites. We recommend reviewing their privacy policies separately.

6. Fonts

We load fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). Google may collect your IP address when serving font files. See Google’s Privacy Policy for details.

7. Children’s Privacy

OtterDesk is not directed at children under 13 (US) or under 13 (UK). We do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since we collect no data at all, this is not a practical concern.

8. Your Rights

For UK Users (UK GDPR & Data Protection Act 2018)

Since we do not collect or process any personal data, the data subject rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) — including the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection — do not apply in practice. There is simply no data to act upon.

Our lawful basis for any incidental processing (e.g., Vercel server logs) would be legitimate interest in operating the website. You may contact us if you have concerns.

For US Users (State Privacy Laws)

We comply with applicable US state privacy laws including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), and similar legislation. Since we do not collect, sell, or share personal information, these rights are satisfied by default. We do not sell your personal information and have never done so.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we change this privacy policy, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Since we don’t collect contact information, we cannot notify you directly — please check this page periodically.
